Dr Debbie Davis · Chermside Medical CentreAbout Dr Davis
Debbie’s passion for women’s health deepened through her own experience — navigating fertility challenges while working as a doctor and raising a family. That personal journey shaped the way she practises and the care she brings to every consultation.
She sees menopause care through the lens of healthy ageing — not just symptom management. If she can help a woman live longer, healthier and with more vitality, she feels she’s done her job.
Areas of interest
The years before menopause can bring changes that feel confusing and hard to explain. You don’t need to wait until your periods have stopped to seek support. Early help makes a real difference.
Hormone therapy is safe and highly effective for most women — but it should always be individualised. Debbie takes the time to understand your history, discuss the evidence and find the right approach for you — whether that includes oestrogen, progesterone, testosterone or a combination of all three.
HRT isn’t right for everyone, and that’s okay. There are evidence-based alternatives — lifestyle, medication and beyond — and Debbie will work through them with you honestly.
Body changes through midlife are real and complex. A woman who is exhausted, anxious and not sleeping isn’t going to feel motivated to overhaul her lifestyle. Sometimes the right treatment comes first — and everything else follows.
From contraception through perimenopause to cervical screening, bowel cancer checks and breast health — Debbie takes a proactive approach to keeping women well at every stage. She is also a trained IUD inserter and can help with PMDD and PMS.
You’re not imagining it
Perimenopause and menopause affect far more than periods and hot flushes. Sleep, mood, anxiety, concentration, joint pain, libido and overall wellbeing can all be impacted — often years before periods stop completely.
Your appointment
Many women arrive having already seen multiple practitioners or been told their symptoms are just stress or ageing. Debbie starts by listening — properly.
You’ll leave understanding what’s happening, what the options are and what the evidence says. Not a vague next step. A real plan, built around you.
Menopause care isn’t about following a recipe. Sometimes it takes a little while to find the right dose or approach. Debbie works with you for as long as it takes to get it right.
